International Spotlight: Szoboszlai and Ngumoha shine with key assists on Saturday

Dominik Szoboszlai and Rio Ngumoha registered assists during Saturday’s international fixtures.

Liverpool No.8 Szoboszlai created the second goal for Hungary - his first-half corner kick headed in by Roland Sallai - as they faced the Republic of Ireland away from home.

Szoboszlai featured for the whole of the World Cup qualifier in Dublin for the visitors, which ended 2-2 as the home side came from two goals down, equalising in stoppage time after Sallai was sent off.

Reds teammate and compatriot Milos Kerkez was also in the starting XI and played 80 minutes.

Elsewhere, Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni were in action for England U19s in a 3-3 draw with Spain.

Nyoni started at Pinatar Arena, while Ngumoha came off the bench with around 20 minutes remaining and provided the assist for the Young Lions’ late equaliser.

And overnight in California, Wataru Endo was involved throughout Japan’s goalless friendly against Mexico.
